Child Advocacy Center

The Carl Perkins Child Advocacy Centers coordinate the investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse cases by utilizing multidisciplinary teams of professionals involved in child protection and victim advocacy services, law enforcement and prosecution, and physical and mental health.

Child Advocacy Centers include the following components:

  • Child-focused facility
  • Multidisciplinary team
  • Forensic interviews are conducted in an objective, non-duplicative manner
  • Medical evaluation and treatment
  • Therapeutic intervention
  • Victim support/advocacy
  • Child abuse prevention programs
  • Parent education programs
  • Parent aide programs
